Company Overview: Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, and is seeking a highly skilled EPC Energy Project Manager with native or N1 level proficiency in Japanese to lead their projects in Japan. Job Description: We are looking for an experienced EPC Energy Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the execution of renewable energy projects from conception to completion in Japan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, project management, and a deep understanding of Japan's energy landscape and regulations.


Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hydro, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

  2. Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.

  3. Manage procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

  4. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

  5. Liaise with regulatory authorities, utility companies, and local communities to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits.

  6. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation.

  7. Prepare and present project status reports, financial forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.

  8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  2. Proven experience (minimum 5 years) managing EPC projects in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar, wind, or hydro projects.

  3. Native or N1 level proficiency in Japanese with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English is a plus.

  4. Strong technical background in renewable energy systems, including design, construction, and commissioning.

  5. PMP or other project management certification is highly desirable.

  6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.

  7. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  8. Knowledge of Japanese energy policies, regulations, and permitting processes.

  9. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
